24 Apr. 2018 -- This workshop focused on ways of engaging readers in new and different relationships with place.

20 Apr. 2018 -- Participants sketched and experienced first-hand the processes of abstraction, generalization, and inclusion/exclusion at the heart of mapmaking.

28 Feb. 2018 -- Jack Swab (M.A. candidate in Geography) gave a presentation  on his Master's thesis project about the Sanborn Map Company in preparation for the American Association of Geographer's Conference, which takes place in April.

19 Feb. 2018 --  Dr. Joe Pierce led a discussion on Henri Lefebvre's theories with regards to his own research and journal article "Placing Lefebvre" within the topic. 

29 Jan. 2018 -- Tyler McCreary, an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Florida State University, gave a short talk and led a discussion around the theme of indigenous labor and the Witsuwit'ed in Nothern Canada.

6 Dec 2017 -- Reina Imagawa, an MFA student in Media Design Practices at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena presents her ongoing research surrounding (in)formal everyday practice, visual design, and the urban landscape.

16 Nov. 2017 -- Geography M.A. student Jack Swab presented his ongoing research on the work of mid-twentieth-century artist Gordon Matta-Clark.

11 Nov. 2017 -- Dr. Nicholas Bauch reports on his experiences at the "Habitats 67" exhibit in Montreal. The exhibit displays futuristic eco-responsible urban neighborhoods.

10 May 2017 -- Undergraduate studio affiliate Ryan Bird presented the making process and conclusions of his honors thesis Attuning to Climate Change.  To produce two podcasts he wove together lessons in interviewing, technical sound editing, and intellectual content.

30 Nov. 2016 -- We took a look at and discussed a rare set of Landscape Magazine issues that Dr. Bauch recently came across. This magazine was edited and partly authored by the great J.B. Jackson, a pioneer in the field of geography. 

11 Nov. 2016 -- Desert explorer Anthony Edwards discussed his techniques for using historical literature to help navigate the archaeological gems of the Mojave region.

25 Oct. 2016 -- Geography professor Laurel Smith, along with co-author Filo Gomez, discussed their forthcoming article--"The Affective Logic of Video Activism"--based on their work in Oaxaca, Mexico and Oklahoma.

30 Sept. 2016 -- Professors Alison Fields (Art History) and Todd Stewart (Photography) from the University of Oklahoma's School of Visual Arts visited the studio for a Tea Hour discussion on their brand new book, Picher, Oklahoma: Catastrophe, memory, and trauma.  

6 Sept. 2016 -- Review of "1892 Everglades Exploration Expedition," by John R. Nemmers, University of Florida.  An in-progress digital reconstruction of the trip across the Florida peninsula's southern swamp lands that set the stage for the modernization of Florida.
